TARAN DAVIES
Taran Davies, founder and CEO of Cosmic Picture, conceived, developed and produced the IMAX© film Journey to Mecca. Taran has produced, directed and written several critically acclaimed documentary films about the Muslim world in the Caucasus, Central Asia and Afghanistan for television and theatrical release. His 'Afghan Stories’, a feature documentary he directed in Afghanistan in 2001, premiered at the Venice Film Festival in September 2002, was described by the New York Times as “invaluable” and by the 'Anthology of Cult Movies’ as one of the best documentaries ever made.
Taran was educated at Eton and Harvard. He formerly worked as an investment banker with Loeb Partners, a private equity firm in New York City. He lives in New York City.
